KEEPING THE LORD AS THE FOCUS OF OUR LIVES AND MINISTRIES
Text: Heb 12: 1 – 3, Lk 9: 59 – 62
Christian life and ministry is likened to a race. We are all involved in this race. To remain on the track and run to the end, we must avoid every form of distraction. Too often, when believers are distracted, they unknowingly get their focus replaced with someone or something else.
As Christ’s solders we must focus permanently on the commander-in-chief as He is the author and the finisher of our faith – the very source of our victory.
When adverse situations, contrary winds and circumstances rare their ugly heads, we must be prepared to keep the Lord as the focus of our faith. We must beware of all worldly attractions that tend to want to distract us.
Keeping Jesus as our example and model helps us
to focus on the joy that is set before us enduring the cross and despising the shame.
In the meanwhile, here is the Lord’s counsel for your pilgrimage journey, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares you. – Run with endurance the race that is set before you. Heb 12: 1
This is my earnest prayer thus running… Grace to run with endurance the race that is set before me. Grace to watch out attractive that easily distract us.
