TEXT: Eccl. 7:1
Life can be simple and interesting for the wise but it can be very difficult and complicated for the foolish. Many things are good but only few things are better. A good name is better than great riches. In most cases people are unable to combine riches and a good name. People who choose riches sacrifice a good name first. A good name has to do with a person’s reputation attached to him. A good name will give you money; will deliver you in the day of trouble. A good name will make a way for you. Vs. 2 It is better to go to the house of mourning than to the house of feasting. It is the time of feasting that people compromise. We must not change our values because we are feasting. People throw away caution during the time of feasting. Do not change your eating pattern during feasting. We live in the midst of friends as well as enemies. Anybody can be used by the devil, so do not be greedy in feasting. Vs. 3 Sorrow is better than laughter… Sorrow makes us think. People tend to over react during time of feasting. Do not let someone’s misbehaviour make you to misbehave: Control your emotion.
